
Ukraine continues to align its regulations with European Union standards. The country has recently announced new Ecodesign regulations for commercial refrigeration appliances with a direct sales function, which will become mandatory on September 1, 2026.
Based on EU standards, the technical regulation is adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers and focuses on the energy efficiency and environmental impact of "direct-sale" refrigeration — the units designed to display and sell food and beverages.

Although the deadline is still some time away, manufacturers are encouraged to start the transition now. Products already placed on the market before this September 1, 2026 may generally continue to be sold, but all new equipment introduced after the date must comply with the updated energy tiers and carry the necessary compliance markings.
