
Chile has launched one of Latin America’s most ambitious regulatory modernizations, introducing mandatory QR codes and digital compliance webpages for nearly all wireless devices. This initiative, driven by the Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL), is designed to streamline market entry by replacing traditional paper certificates with live, verifiable digital documentation.
Under SUBTEL Resolution Exenta N° 737/2025, which governs the import, distribution, and sale of radio-frequency equipment, these new requirements will take effect in February 2026.
Resolution 737 significantly reduces the compliance workload for most Short-Range Devices (SRDs), such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and RFID equipment:

Only medical equipment (categories "g" and "h" of the Resolution) will still require traditional SUBTEL certification.
Manufacturers should begin updating packaging and digital documentation systems now to ensure full compliance before the February 2026 deadline.
