Mongolia’s Digital Transformation: 5G Network Officially Goes Live

The Communications Regulatory Commission (CRC) of Mongolia has officially established its nationwide 5G network, signaling a major leap forward in the country's digital infrastructure.

With the network now live, the CRC has reinforced strict compliance standards for hardware. All equipment supporting 5G technology is now required to undergo mandatary formal certification before being placed on the Mongolian market. This ensures that all devices from industrial sensors to consumer smartphones operate safely within the newly licensed frequency bands and meet national technical standards.

The CRC has concluded its frequency band licensing, granting leading service providers with operational rights. This strategic move is designed to act as a catalyst for national innovation, providing the high-speed, low-latency backbone required for a modern digital economy.

The launch of 5G is expected to bring significant advancements to Mongolia’s most critical industries.

As Mongolia enters the 5G era, manufacturers must prioritize local Type Approval to ensure uninterrupted market access for their 5G-enabled products.
