Ecuador Updates List of Recognized Foreign Bodies Within Type Approval Procedure

Telecommunications Regulatory and Control Agency of Ecuador (ARCOTEL) notified about revision of the regulation for homologation and certification of telecommunications terminal equipment with regard to the list of recognized international bodies within the type approval procedure.

Thus, for type approval procedure in Ecuador, the ARCOTEL will accept conformity documents issued by the following bodies:

  • National Telecommunications Agency of Brazil (ANATEL)
  • Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)
  • China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT)
  • European Economic Community (CE) / Declarations of Conformity (DoC)
  • European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI)
  • Federal Communications Commission of the United States of America (FCC)
  • Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS)
  • National Communications Commission of Taiwan (NCC)
  • The Certification and Engineering Bureau of industry of Canada (CEBIC)


ARCOTEL informs that it will periodically review this list and publish this information on its website.
