Vietnam Updates Potentially Unsafe Products List

The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) of Vietnam issued Circular No. 11/2020/TT-BTTTT that became effective in July 2020. This Circular concerns products subject to MIC Type Approval Certification and Declaration of Conformity. It replaces Circular No. 05/2019/TT-BTTTT and makes amendments in the list of products category 2 subject to MIC certification and declaration of conformity.

In the Circular, there are two annexes. The first one consists of R&TT products subject to both certification and declaration and contains 3 categories of the products. The second one contains six categories of R&TT products and their components and falls under the declaration of conformity procedure.

The MIC reviewed the Annexes to Circular No. 11/2020/TT-BTTTT and amended the list of mobile communication equipment subject to compulsory conformity assessment procedure. Additionally, the MIC modified references to technical regulations applicable to the following R&TT products subject to declaration under the Annex II:

  • Digital terrestrial television set-top box DVB-T2 (Set-Top Box DVB-T2)
  • Desktop computers, laptops and tablets
  • VHI equipment

The amendments came into force from July 1, 2021.
