The Ministry of Information and Communications of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (MIC) issued a new Circular 9/2021/TT-BTTTT on October 20, 2021. According to the document, MIC introduces National technical regulation 124:2021/BTTTT for radar equipment for ground-based vehicles operating on the frequency range from 76 GHz to 77 GHz. The Technical Regulation will enter in force from July 1, 2022

The Circular describes the technical characteristics and test methods for the above-mentioned radar equipment using an integrated antenna operating on the range 76-77 GHz. This technical regulation applies to integrated transceivers and receivers.

The regulation is applicable to Vietnamese and foreign organizations and individuals that have production and business activities of equipment covered by this regulation in Vietnam.

According to the Regulation, all operating bands of equipment shall be declared by the equipment manufacturer.

When equipment has multiple operating bandwidths, a sufficient number of operating bandwidths shall be selected for the test, including lower and upper limits of operating frequency, minimum and maximum bandwidth.

The effective radiated power of any spurious emissions of the transmitter shall not exceed the following values:

The effective radiated power of any narrowband receiver spurious emissions shall not exceed the following values:

Apart from general requirements, the Regulation contains the relevant test methods for transmitters and receivers correspondingly.

Please, note that it is possible to use test results of designated domestic testing laboratories, or recognized foreign testing laboratories, or recognized domestic and foreign testing laboratories as well as manufacturer's test results.
