Uzbekistan Updates Technical Regulations on Safety of Some Products

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan has issued Resolution No. 66, dated February 17, 2026 introducing critical updates to the following technical regulations:

In the Technical Regulation on the Safety of Children's Toys, the resolution introduces a comprehensive list of toys subject to mandatory conformity assessment:

Additionally, it also establishes strict new safety rules for magnetic toys, requiring specific warning labels regarding the danger of swallowing magnetic parts.

In the technical Regulation on Safety of Gas-Fired Appliances Operating on Bottled Gas, the Resolution introduces new safety requirements: 

  • Gas equipment must be designed and manufactured to prevent instability, deformation, cracking, corrosion, or release of any harmful substances during normal use;
  • Thermal insulation between high-temperature operating parts of the gas equipment and the surrounding environment must withstand prescribed thermal and mechanical stresses, and must not release any harmful substances from the material under normal operating conditions;
  • Heating zones with capacity exceeding 75 kW must be equipped with a special filter to reduce emissions of combustion products released into the environment through flue gas.

Amendments to the Regulations will enter into force six months after official publication.
