The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved Resolution No 282 “About modification of Technical regulations on the safety of toys” on March 31, 2021. The Resolution makes amendments to the main part of the Regulation that specifies some provisions of the Regulation and reduces the limits of chromium and aluminum in the composition of toys and in the materials from which toys are made as well as the limiting values ​​of formaldehyde in toys.

Thus, the following changes in table 3 were made:

Table 11 was also added to Annex 2. It sets the following limit values on formaldehyde:

The Technical regulations on the safety of toys was developed on top of the Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the safety of toys according to the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. As the Directive 2009/48/EC was changed, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine should have to bring the provisions of the national requirements into compliance with requirements of the Directive and the Agreement.

The Resolution becomes effective on October 3, 2021.
