China Updates List of Products for Mandatory Certification

Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) issued Announcement #44 of 2019 to strengthen the responsibility of market entities and optimize business economic environment. According to this announcement, 18 types of products were excluded from the mandatory certification procedure, among are two main categories:

 

  1. Audio and video equipment, namely: tuning receivers and radios for various broadcast bands and monitors  
  2. Telecommunications terminal equipment, namely: fixed telephone terminals and additional telephone equipment and automatic-telephone system

This Announcement also includes the extended list of products subject to mandatory conformity assessment procedure in the form of self-declaration. It contains 17 new types of products:

The CNCA notes that certificates for a product that is excluded from the mandatory conformity assessment  procedure will be cancelled or can be replaced with the voluntary product certification upon the request of the manufacturer.
