The State Administration for Market Regulation together with the National Standardization Administration of China issued a new version of standard for down-filled clothes. GB/T 14272-2021 – Down Garments will replace the previous standard GB/T 14272-2011 on April 1, 2022. 

The key changes represented in the new version are the following:  

• The scope of application was changed in the new version of the standard.
  Starting from April 2022, the standard will apply to down-filled clothes, including those produced with textiles as the main fabric and down as a filler.

• Instruction for use.
  Down fillers should be labeled with the down species, down content and net weight of the down.

• Appendix A was revised
  Requirements for the down type became the essential one

• Specific requirements for down quality were added.
  - new requirements to the trade dress were stated
  - additional requirements for down clothing intended for infants and children were included

• Some test methods and assessed values were changed
