Allocation of 5G Spectrum in 3.5 GHz Band in New Zealand

The New Zealand government has informed about the allocation of 5G spectrum. To begin with, the spectrum will be available for the 3.5 GHz band. However, auctions for this band are planned for early 2020. This means that the national spectrum rights in the 3.5 GHz band will be possible for the use from November 2022 after the expiration of the existing rights for this band.

Those who are interested in the auction process can leave their comments and recommendations in the second part of 2019.

It worth mentioning that regional wireless broadband service providers can also use the spectrum in this band. All this will allow to speed up the connection and increase the network capacity and quality giving citizens to use a high-speed and high-quality wireless broadband network.
