RoHS Safety Approval for the EAEU Region

As part of the general conformity assessment process, all the electrical and electronic products entering the EAEU must pass the RoHS compliance procedure.
What is RoHS?
RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. The Directive specifies maximum levels for 10 restricted substances:
Cadmium (Cd): < 100 ppm
Lead (Pb): < 1000 ppm
Mercury (Hg): < 1000 ppm
Hexavalent Chromium: (Cr VI) < 1000 ppm
Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB): < 1000 ppm
Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE): < 1000 ppm
Bis(2-Ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP): < 1000 ppm
Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP): < 1000 ppm
Dibutyl phthalate (DBP): < 1000 ppm
Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP): < 1000 ppm
The first six applied to the original RoHS while the last four were added under RoHS 3, which came into force on July 22, 2019.
Who is affected by the RoHS Directive?
All the companies that sell or distribute electrical and electronic equipment, its components, assemblies or cables to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and these products contain any of the above-mentioned substances, are subject to the RoHS Directive. If the companies sell their goods to resellers, distributors or integrators that in turn sell products to EAEU countries should also make sure their products are RoHS Certified.
