EAEU Publishes New Energy Efficiency Requirements for Power Consuming Products
Recently, EEC Council has adopted the EAEU Technical Regulation “On requirements for energy efficiency of power consuming devices”. The new specifies energy efficiency requirements for the following types of products:
and other electrical appliances
The document also outlines marking requirements and energy efficiency classes.
The regulation was developed by the he Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) together with the EAEU countries to ensure energy efficiency of the devices and thus save energy resources.
Certain types of power consuming devices will be covered with special labels and technical sheets on energy efficiency. Such attributes will help consumers to get more information about energy efficiency of the device. The technical regulations also notify about the approval of energy efficiency label forms by the Commission.
Once the EAEU TR comes in force, power consuming device will be put on the Union market only after its conformation to the relevant technical regulations’ requirements.
Please, remember, once the device is confirmed to all the relevant EAEU technical regulations, EAC conformity mark should be affixed.
According to the EEC Council’s decision, it is planned to introduce certain requirements of the EAEU TR step by step. Thus, manufacturers of the power consumption devices could have time to prepare for new requirements without the hustle and bustle.
