Indonesian Telecommunication Authority (SDPPI) released Decree No. 138 on April 24, 2019 and the announcement No. 394/DJSDPPI/SP.04.09/04/2019 on April 26, 2019. These documents regulate recognition of Foreign test reports for Telecommunication devices: cellular phones, handheld computers, and tablet computers.
According to these documents, cellular phones, handheld computers, and tablet computers manufacturers are allowed to use test reports issued by foreign test labs for certification purposes.
The Telecommunication Authority of Indonesia has determined the list of foreign centers, whose test reports could be recognized for cellular phones, handheld computers, and tablet computers with regard to certification process. The list contains 120 foreign test centers.
However, the SDPPI points out that a recognized foreign test center has to meet the following requirements:
It should be accredited under ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and has the relevant accreditation certificate
The scope of accreditation of the center allows carrying out tests in accordance with the necessary technical requirements.
A recognized foreign test center should be the member of the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and/or the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA)
This decision is valid for 6 months from April 15, 2019.
