Indonesia Telecommunication Authority (SDPPI) has released decree No.138 on April 24, 2019 and an announcement No. 394/DJSDPPI/SP.04.09/04/2019 on April 26, 2019. These documents establish the main procedures on recognition of foreign test reports for telecommunication devices, namely, cellular phones, handheld computers, and tablet computers.
According to these documents, for the certification purposes of cellular phones, handheld computers and tablet computers it is possible to use test reports that were issued by the foreign test labs.
The Telecommunication Authority of Indonesia has determined the list of foreign centres, which test reports could be recognized with regards to the certification process. The list contains 120 foreign test centers.
However, the SDPPI points out that the recognised foreign test center has to meet the following requirements:
It should be accredited under ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and has the relevant accreditation certificate
The scope of accreditation of the center allows to carry out tests in accordance with the necessary technical requirements
The recognised foreign test center should be a member of the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and/or the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA)
This decision is valid for 6 months from the April 15, 2019.
