Argentina Updates ENACOM Cellular Standard

April 1, 2019

On February 18, 2019, Ente Nacional de Comunicaciones (ENACOM) of Argentina issued Resolution 793/2019. The document is aimed to update certain items within cellular standard ENACOM-Q2-61.03 V17.1.

According to the Resolution, while at least two labs are authorized to perform cellular testing in Argentina, ENACOM can accept foreign test reports (FCC, ANATEL, IFT, etc.). However, frequency bands that are used in Argentina, are not acceptable in most other countries. That is why ENACOM issued a template of a Declaration of Conformity that should be provided to a certification body in case when frequency bands of the device deviate from the specified in Argentina.

Thus, ENACOM will continue accepting foreign certificates and reports until two accredited laboratories are authorized to carry out tests according to ENACOM-Q2-61.03 V17.1 "User Terminals of Mobile Communications Services"
