Canada Updates Technical Requirements for Fixed Line-of-Sight Radio Systems


Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has released the SRSP-305.9, Issue 6, which updates technical requirements for Fixed Line‑of-Sight Radio Systems operating in the bandwidth of 5925-6425 MHz. The SRSP replaces SRSP-305.9, Issue 5.

This document was issued to add radio frequency channel bandwidths of 60 MHz for the use in specific areas.

Thus, the document includes the following key changes:

1. The RF channel bandwidths of 60 MHz are added

2. References to low-, medium- and high-capacity systems, based on SMSE-022-14 (Decisions on Spectrum Utilization Policies and Technical Requirements Related to Backhaul) are removed

3. In Section 4.5, Spectral Efficiency, the information with regards to systems using adaptive modulation or adaptive error-correction is added.
