Korea Issues New Standard for Vehicle Wireless Devices
A new Standard KN 301 489-51 on Radio Equipment for Vehicles and Electric and Electronic Components has recently adopted in South Korea. The document establishes electromagnetic compatibility requirements for the above-mentioned equipment.
The standard applies to the following equipment and systems:
automobile and ground-based surveillance radars (using 24,25 GHz–24,65 GHz, 76 GHz–77 GHz and 34.275 GHz–34.875 GHz)
communication systems, base stations (V2X) (Intelligent Transportation Systems 5.855 GHz–5.925 GHz, object detection sensors 24.05 GHz–24.25 GHz for wireless devices)
information infrastructure radars for traffic monitoring
other analogous equipment
It is necessary to mention that the National Standard of Korea is based on the ETSI EN 301 489-51 V 2.1.0.
