Pakistan Approves List of Equipment Exempted from Type Approval Process

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has approved amendments of Type Approval Regulations at the end of 2018. According to this document, the list of the devices that are excluded from the type approval process is valid and may be revised from time to time.

 

Currently, the following devices are in the exemption list:

 

  1. Networking equipment

  2. Laptops/Desktops/PCs (nonSIM-based devices)

  3. Tablet PCs with Wi-Fi only (nonSIM-based devices)

  4. GPS only devices

  5. Smart watches with BT/Wi-Fi only (without SIM or tracking features)

 

Please note, the regulations are active since December 1, 2018.
