Certification Requirements for Specific Electrical Products Marketed in Chile

On December 11, 2018, Chile's Ministry of Energy issued two Resolutions, № 39 and № 40, to request mandatory certification for specific electrical products aimed at being marketed in the country. The resolutions came into force on December 28.


The Resolutions require that the following products have the Certificate of Conformity from a certification body recognized by the Superintendence of Electricity and Fuel (SEC) of Chile:


  • high-pressure cleaners which produce between 2.5 MPa and 35 MPa

  • hot and cold water dispensers

  • portable coolers

  • automatic interrupters for domestic use
