Bosnia and Herzegovina Issues Technical Regulation on Appliances Burning Gaseous Fuels

On February 15, 2018, the Government of the Bosnia and Herzegovina published a Regulation establishing the safety requirements, conformity assessment procedures, conditions required to comply with the conformity assessment bodies, and procedure for their designation, as well as the sign and manner of conformity marking of the appliances burning gaseous fuels. This Regulation came into force on February 1, 2019. Being aligned with the provisions of the Directive 2009/142/EC on appliances burning gaseous fuels, the document recasts the Regulation (EU) 2016/426. 


The Regulation is applicable to:


  • appliances gaseous fuels that are intended for cooking, heating, hot water production, cooling, lighting or washing, and having a normal water temperature lower than 105 °C, including fan burners and heating bodies equipped with such burners

  • fittings for the safety, control or regulating devices and subassemblies, other than ventilation burners and heating bodies equipped with such burners, which are placed on the market separately and are intended for installation in the appliance or composed as part of such appliance.


This Regulation does not affect appliances intended for use in industrial processes carried out in industrial plants. 


Any equipment complying with the provisions of the Regulation must bear the following national conformity mark:


The mark should be clearly visible, legible, and indelible and appear either on the apparatus or on a nameplate affixed to it. Instructions for the installation, use, and maintenance of the appliances should be issued in one of the official languages of Republika Srpska.
