China Changes Testing Requirements and SRRC Approval Procedure for R&TT Products
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China (MIIT) officially announced some changes to the conformity assessment procedures as well as to testing requirements for radio equipment. The updates came in force on October 15.
Here the main points you should know:
Under the new law, all radio testing fees are now absorbed by the Ministry. The applicant still pays for the testing but at the end of the process the test fees are handed back by the Ministry.
Local testing is still required for SRRC Approval. For new applications submitted after October 15, SRRC nominates a locally accredited laboratory to carry out the tests.
