Requirements for Power Supplies Market Access in Argentina
Switching power supplies that are imported to Argentina need to complete certification.
In accordance with Resolution 169/2018, all the equipment in Argentina utilizing power of 50-1000V for alternating current and 75-1500V for direct current requires a certificate conforming its compliance with the essential safety requirements.
In order to receive S-Mark safety approval, a power supply must accept 220Vac/50hz. Argentina requires Class I and Class II electrical plugs (illustrated below).
The plug should have the Argentina certification mark and a label containing information about the use of the plug.
The IRAM or IEC standarts are applied to evaluate the products. The type of a standard depends on the type of the product.
