Vietnam Updates National Technical Regulations on EMC

Circular 07/2018/TT-BKHCN of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) amends Circular №QCVN 9:2012/BKHCN on National Technical Regulations on Electromagnetic Compatibility for Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

 

The Circular changes the dates, starting from which certain appliances have to meet the requirements before entering the Vietnamese market. The changes mainly relate to EMC, certifying conformity, and the Vietnamese Directorate for Standards and Quality's responsibility for implementation of the Circular.

 

The following appliances fall under the scope of these changes:

 

1. Hair dryers must meet the requirements of this Regulation before being placed on the market starting from September 1, 2019.

2. Blenders, fruit juicers, meat grinders and egg whisks must meet the requirements of this Regulation before being placed on the market strating from July 1, 2020

3. Microwave ovens and electric cookers must meet the requirements of this Regulation before being placed on the market strating from July 1, 2020

 

The Circular came into force on September 1, 2018.
