Requirements for Electrical and RTTE Products Market Access in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Electrical and RTTE products are subject to Safety and Telecom Approvals in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The following types of requirements can be applicable to get access to the market of the Kingdom of Bahrain:
Telecom
Requirements of Gulf Technical Regulation for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances
Requirements for Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment
Compliance with the requirements for Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment (RTTE) is confirmed by the Certificate of Conformity and regulated by Article 38 of the Telecommunications Law. All the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment needs to be approved before import.
Requirements of Gulf Technical Regulation
Member States of the Standardization Organization for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf are The State of the United Arab Emirates, The Kingdom of Bahrain, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The Sultanate of Oman, The State of Qatar, The State of Kuwait, and The Republic of Yemen.
Requirements of Gulf Technical Regulation for Low-Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances (BD-142004-01) must be confirmed by the G-Mark Certificate.
The product categories which fall under the scope of the Gulf Technical Regulation for Low-Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances (BD-142004-01) from July 1st, 2016 are:
Domestic electrical fans
Refrigerators, freezers, and other refrigerating or freezing equipment
Centrifugal clothes dryers and clothes washing machines
Food grinders and mixers, fruit or vegetable juice extractors
Toasters
Electro-thermic hair-dressing apparatus and hand dryers
Domestic electric heating apparatus
Microwave ovens
Other ovens, cookers, cooking plates, boiling rings, grillers, and roasters
Electric instantaneous or storage water heaters and immersion heaters
Electric smoothing irons
Plugs, socket outlets, adaptors, cord extension sets, and chargers
Air conditioners
G-Mark labeling

where “xxxx” is a four-digit identification number of the notified body
Conclusion: Electrical and RTTE products can be put to the market of the Kingdom of Bahrain if they comply with all the applicable Telecom and Gulf Technical Regulation requirements.
