EAEU Market Access for Devices Operating on Gaseous Fuel

To get access to the EAEU markets, devices operating on gaseous fuel must meet the requirements of the EAEU TR 016/2011 «On the safety of devices operating on gaseous fuel». Conformity of gas appliances with the requirements of the EAEU TR 016/2011 is ensured by meeting safety requirements of the Technical Regulations and/or by applying the requirements of the standards from the list of interrelated standards, which are an integral part of the Technical Regulations.
The following devices operating on gaseous fuel are subject to the requirements of the EAEU TR 016/2011:
1. Gas equipment intended for food preparation, heating, and hot water supply:
Household gas fired heaters
Household gas fired heaters for food preparation and preheating
Tankless gas water heaters
Storage gas water heaters
Gas-fired boilers
Thermal gas equipment for catering and food units
Industrial gas-fired burners for special purposes
Closed gas-fired radiant heaters
Industrial gas-fired air heaters
Gas heat generators for livestock houses
Gas brooders
Portable and touring gas heaters and trivets
Household gas lamps
Infrared household gas-fired burners and gas burner units for home appliance
2. Block automated burners:
Gas-fired block industrial burners
Multi-fuel block industrial burners
3. Devices intended for embedding into equipment:
Gas pressure regulators operating without independent power supply
Regulators (reducers) for gas cylinders
Flexible junction for gas burners and appliances
Instrumentation and automation equipment for gas-fired burners and gas appliances
Gas-regulating valves and shut-off safety valves
The following types of gas appliances are out of scope for this Regulations:
а) Steam boilers with steam pressure over 0.07 MPa and hot water boilers with temperature of over 115 °C;
b) Equipment designed for the use within industrial processes, except the gas-powered equipment, included above;
c) Equipment that uses gas as a motor fuel.
According to the Technical Regulations, devices that are subject to the EAEU TR 016/2011 require the mandatory conformity assessment procedure in the form of certification or declaration. The form of conformity assessment depends on the type of a product and is specified in the TR.
Both EAEU manufacturer or local representative of a foreign manufacturer specified in the contract can apply for certification.
The devices that have a certificate of conformity or a declaration of conformity to the requirements of this EAEU TR should be marked with a unified sign of market access (the EAC mark).
The devices must be provided with the documentation in the official language of a Eurasian Economic Union member state in which territory the equipment will be used and (or) in Russian, as defined by a supply contract, including the equipment imported from other countries.
Conclusion:
Devices operating on gaseous fuel must meet requirements of the EAEU TR 016/2011 «On the safety of devices operating on gaseous fuel» to get access to the EAEU markets.
The form of conformity assessment depends on the type of product and can be carried out in the form of certification or declaration.
Both EAEU manufacturer or local representative of a foreign manufacturer specified in the contract can apply for certification.
The EAEU Certificate of conformity or EAEU Declaration of conformity and the sign of market access (the EAC mark) conform that the equipment is compliant to the EAEU TR 016/2011 requirements.
