Amendments to the Technical Regulation of the EAEU "On the Safety of Toys" (EAEU TR 008/2011)

According to the decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission No. 12 of March 17, 2017, amendments to the Technical Regulation 008/2011 "On the Safety of Toys" has been adopted.

 

A number of definitions, such as "magnetic toy", "magnetic toy element", "functional magnet" were added.

The following safety requirements were established:

- suspension swings must be solid, swing seats intended for children up to 3 years old must have a structure that prevents a child from falling;

- dielectric properties of cords for flying toys must be presented;

- adherence to the calculated index of magnetic flux for loose magnets and magnetic toy elements.

Along with the information on hazards and measures taken while using dangerous toys, content of a mandatory warning label on a consumer package and (or) an instruction manual for magnetic toys was defined.

Sanitary and chemical indicators for toys in terms of the chromium content were also specified.

Amendments to the Technical Regulation 008/2011 of the EAEU "On the Safety of Toys" coming into force on March 30, 2018.
