Final Technical Regulation for Low-power Radio-frequency devices in Taiwan

March 27, 2018

On 10th of January 2018 the National Communications Commission of Taiwan (NCC) published final version of the Technical Regulation LP0002 for Low-power Radio-frequency devices. This Regulation has come in force immediately.

The main changes are as follow:

  • RFID devices frequency band was extended from 922-928 MHz to 920-928 MHz.

The already approved UHF RFID devices are allowed to operate only in the band of 922-928 MHz. To use the extended range of 920-928 MHz for them a re-approval is required.

  • New frequency band for mobile broadband was added to the Frequency Allocation Table;

  • The frequency band 920-925 MHz was allocated to ‘other IoT devices’.

Conclusion

Every new low-power radio-frequency device entering Taiwanese market should meet the amended requirements of Technical Regulation LP0002.
