Standard NOM-021-ENER/SCFI-2017 has entered into force on the 3rd of January 2018 and all room air conditioners must be certified in accordance with this requirements.

This Official Mexican Standard (NOM) establishes specifications and test methods of the Combined Energy Efficiency Ratio (REEC). It applies to new room type air conditioners, with or without heating, with air-cooled condenser and with cooling capacities of up to 10,600 Wt, domestic and foreign. It is not applicable for mini-split type air conditioners.
