New EMC requirement for Radio broadband data transmission equipment in Vietnam

Ministry of Information and Communications of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (MIC) has issued Circular 18/2017/TT-BTTTT to release a new national standard QCVN 112:2017/BTTTT – a new EMC requirement for radio broadband data transmission equipment. The QCVN 112:2017/BTTTT is equivalent to ETSI EN 301 489-17.

The standard will come into effect on the 1st of July 2018.


The standard covers:


  • Radio communication equipment using spread spectrum modulation in the 2.4 GHz band;

  • Radio access equipment operating in the frequency band 5 150 MHz to 5 350 MHz, 5 470 MHz to 5 725 MHz and 5 725 MHz to 5 850 MHz;

  • High-speed radio access equipment, from 57 GHz to 66 GHz;

  • BWA / WiMAX broadband radio access equipment in both TDD and FDD modes.


Current requirement for broadband data transmission equipment  is QCVN 18:2014/BTTTT (equivalent to ETSI EN 301 489-1), after the start date of QCVN 112:2017 the products mentioned above will need to comply with both standards QCVN 18:2014 and QCVN 112:2017.




Starting from July 1st, 2018 the radio broadband data transmission equipment must comply with QCVN 112:2017/BTTTT requirements.
