Quick Guide to Energy Efficiency Requirements in EAEU

Currently there are no common energy efficiency requirements in the EAEU. The only country which has national technical regulations against energy efficiency requirements is Belarus.

However, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission accepted the Decision on EAEU TR “On energy efficiency requirements for energy-consuming equipment” on August 8, 2019. It became effective in a month.

According to the Decision, new technical regulations EAEU TR 048/2019 will come into force once the document on labels for different types of energy consuming products as well as the label design rules will be developed. This document should be prepared by March 1, 2021.

That is why the EAEU TR 048/2019 will be implemented no earlier than September 1, 2021.

This technical regulations will specify requirements to the energy efficiency of devices and labeling for the following categories of products:

As you can see, only four categories require conformity assessment procedure in the form of certification.

Kindly remind you that only residents of the EAEU can apply for conformity assessment procedure in the EAEU.
