New Type Approval Regulation Comes into Force in Jordan

Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) of Jordan has recently issued the Decision on revision of procedures for radio and telecommunications equipment type approvals. The decision became effective on February 1, 2020.

According to this Decision, the validity period of certificate is now 3 years. Thus, products don't require to pass the approval procedure every year from now.  

However, it was decided consider labeling of products.

The label must be affixed on the product itself and on the package. If it is impossible to affix the label on the product, E-labeling can be provided.

The Decision establishes the following compulsory information on the label:

 

  • Manufacturer’s data such as name and address  
  • Information on the product such as type, model, brand (if any), commercial name  
  • If the product embedded with a Cellular Module, IMEI number is also required
