On December 30, 2024, the ANRT of Morocco issued a decision outlining the approval regime for radio and terminal equipment. The decision specifies the requirements and the regulatory approval system for such equipment.

The decision applies to:

• Terminal equipment that can be connected directly or indirectly to a termination point of a public telecommunications network and transmits, receives or handle telecommunications signals
• Any type of radio equipment

 To get access to the market, an applicant must obtain one of the following documents:

• A Certificate of Approval
• An Authorization for Admission specifying the quantity of product to be imported, duration of importation, and conditions of use, if any
• An Exemption from the ANRT approval, granted when the telecommunications interface is not subject to the decision

ANRT issues a reasoned refusal if the product doesn’t meet regulations requirements.  

The Certificate of Approval and the Authorization for Admission must contain the following information:

• Main technical characteristics relevant to the approval
• Expiry date of the document
• The authorization may additionally specify conditions of importation, usage, marketing and duration of importation, if applicable.

The certificate can be granted for the period of up to 10 years. Once the validity of the certificate expires, manufacturer must apply for a new one.

Please note: If the approved equipment undergoes significant modifications, it becomes a subject to a new approval.
