Malaysia Issues New Requirements for IT/Networking Application

SIRIM QAS International announced the implementation of new requirements for IT/Networking applications.

According to the Announcement, Ref. No.: SQASI/CMCS/1/21/0015, IT/Networking applications submitted from August 1, 2021 must meet the new requirements:

  • The validity period of the approved application is one year from the date the File Number is generated
  • It is possible to submit a Certificate of Approval (CoA) application within the validity period only. After the end of the validity period, the system won’t let you do this.

Such new requirements stem from the necessity to check the compliance of two new products. Thus, Active Indoor Antenna for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) and Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) became subject to compliance approval or special approval against MCMC MTSFB TC T014:2017 and MCMC MTSFB TC T013:2019 requirements to get access to Malaysia.

The information has been prepared by the GMA Consult Group team.
