Keep up to Date with the Latest Changes in Harmonized Standards for EMC Directive in European Union

The GMA Consult Group kindly reminds about upcoming changes in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Regulation with regard to harmonized standards that electrical equipment should follow to prove its conformity with the Directive 2014/30/EU (EMC).

Thus, the following standards have been already implemented:

  • EN IEC 55015:2019 - Limits and methods of measurement of radio disturbance characteristics of electrical lighting and similar equipment
  • EN IEC 55014-1:2021 - Electromagnetic compatibility - Requirements for household appliances, electric tools and similar apparatus - Part 1: Emission
  • EN IEC 55014-2:2021 - Electromagnetic compatibility - Requirements for household appliances, electric tools and similar apparatus - Part 2: Immunity - Product family standard

These standards will respectively replace:

EN 55015:2013 on August 30, 2022
EN 55014-1:2017+ A11:2020 on October 12, 2023
EN 55014-2:2015 on October 05, 2023

Moreover, probably CISPR 14-1:2020 and CISPR 14-2:2020 could be also replaced with the EN IEC 55014-2:2021 and EN IEC 55014-1:2021 after their stability date is accruer that is 2023 for CISPR 14-1:2020 and 2022 for CISPR 14-2:2020

Please note, the new standards may require manufacturers for additional testing of their products to meet the compliance thereof.
