EAEU Postponed Energy Efficiency Requirements

Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union “On energy efficiency requirements for energy-using appliances” (EAEU TR 048/2019) is planned to be effective starting from September 1, 2022. The EEC Council announced this decision on January 29, 2021.

We would like to remind our Subscribers that EAEU TR 048/2019 initially supposed to become effective in 2021 on or after September 1. However, it was decided to postpone the introduction of requirements for energy efficiency of energy-consuming devices for one year due to the complicated epidemic situation in the world and in the EAEU particularly.

Thus, time extension allows manufacturers to prepare to the technical regulations requirements smoothly and take all the necessary measures within the manufacturing process to get appliances that meet the relevant requirements of the EAEU technical regulations.

Furthermore, the EEC Council postponed the requirements of the document establishing the forms of labels for various types of power consuming devices and their drafting rules. Now the requirements to the forms of labels becomes effective in the EAEU from March 1, 2022.
