Algeria Changes the Type Approval Procedure for R&TT Products

Algerian telecommunications type approval authority (ARPCE) has issued the Decision  28/SP/PC/ARPCE/2019 of November 16, 2019. The Decision concerns the type approval procedure for radio and telecom terminal equipment and replaces Decision 43/PC/ARPCE/2018 of November 28, 2018.

According to the Decision 28/SP/PC/ARPCE/2019, the applicant should provide administrative and technical dossiers as well as samples to apply for the type approval procedure.

Once the product is approved, the Regulatory Authority issues a certificate of conformity.

The following main changes are worth mentioning:

  • The validity period of the certificate is extended to three years
  • If available test reports were issued more than three years ago, a declaration from the manufacturer stating that the device is still manufactured and conform with the previous test report should be provided
  • Type-approved equipment should bear the label «homologué par l’ARPCE» (that means “approved by the ARPCE”) and include the approval number.
  • One radiated sample (with a label on it) has to be submitted for any application including 2G/3G/GSM (instead of three samples as before).

Text of the Decision 28/SP/PC/ARPCE/2019 is available here.
