Indonesia Notifies about Updates in Recertification Requirements

The SDPPI issued the announcement with regard to the certification of telecommunication tools and/or equipment that are being made, assembled or imported to the market of Indonesia. The announcement was officially published on April 29, 2021. In this announcement, the SDPPI gives the following explanations to the obligations towards telecommunication tools and/or equipment marketed in Indonesia:

  1. If the certificate is granted to the telecommunication tools and/or equipment, this product can be put into the market of Indonesia within a period of three years from the issuance of the certificate. In this case, there is no need to apply for a new certificate;
  2. Once the three-years period expires and the certificate holder decides to manufacture, assemble, or put into the market telecommunication tools and/or equipment,  the holder of such certificate is obliged to apply for the re-certification of the telecommunication tools and/or equipment in Indonesia to get access to the market;
  3. If the holder of the certificate didn’t fulfill the re-certification provisions when required, he/she is not allowed to make, assemble or import telecommunication tools and/or telecommunication equipment into Indonesian.
