The Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India established three quality control Orders with regard to footwear and amendments to them:
According to these Orders, the Bureau of Indian Standards is authorized to certify a specific range of footwear and grant the Standard Mark to such products. The Standard Mark is mandatory and shows the compliance of a product to the corresponding Indian Standard.
Thus, the Footwear made from Leather and other materials (Quality Control) Order applies to the following products:
The Footwear made from all-Rubber and all Polymeric material and its components Order applies to the following products:
The Personal Protective Equipment Footwear Order applies to the following products:
All these Orders become effective from July 1, 2021.
